In December of 2019, the coronavirus 19 (hereinafter COVID-19) broke out in Wuhan, China, and began its spread across the world in 2020. An unprecedented panic, the shock of COVID-19 placed a strain of devastation onto humanity and is still ongoing.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that is spread through the inhalation of infected respiratory droplets or from touching one’s eyes, mouth, or nose after touching an infected surface. Due to the highly contagious nature of this virus, government agencies around the world have maintained strict control of social gatherings, have enacted social distancing guidelines, and have even blocked entire regions or countries from entry. The social and economic damage caused by COVID-19 cannot be enumerated. The number of lives lost has also hit record levels. Over the past 15 months, the number of people infected has reached approximately 124.77 million, while the number of deaths has exceeded 2.74 million (as of 3/25/21). Humanity has become ever vigilant in the fight against this infectious disease.

Our society has made a great change in this pandemic. How and when will this COVID-19 crisis end? What kind of future will we have after this pandemic?
