The extensive space has become the subject of humanity’s desire and challenge. The world’s first satellite “Sputnik 1” (developed by the Soviet Union) was launched in 1957, and the first human-crewed spacecraft “Vostok 1” (the Soviet Union) revolved around the Earth for 108 minutes in 1961. “Apollo 11” (the United States) landed on the surface of the Moon in 1969 and left the first footprint of humanity in space, and in 2010, 16 countries jointly established the International Space Station (ISS). Korea also launched “Naro,” its first space launch vehicle, in 2013, and plans to launch “Nuri,” the space launch vehicle developed only with domestic technologies, in October 2021. Numerous activities for space have continued, and the New Space Era began in 2021, paving the way for private space travel. Recently, private space companies Vergin Galactic, Blue Origin and Space X have succeeded in space experience and tour projects, respectively. Now, a number of private space companies are developing this new industry.

Space used to be the exclusive domain of countries due to issues related to technologies and enormous costs. However, it has become the market for the future with the joining of various cutting-edge technology firms. The New Space Era that began along with the emergence of the civilian space industry is making a new history of humanity. We are the first humans who witness another leap of humankind, standing at the forefront of longdesired space exploration.
